Kawasaki KRX Rear Skid Plate Instructions

Kawasaki KRX Rear Skid Plate Instructions

Kawasaki KRX Rear Skid Plate Instructions

Tools needed:
Power drill with 3/8" drill bit and possibly a smaller step bit to start the hole.
9/16 wrench
7/32 allen wrench or allen socket.

1. Start by drilling out the rear 2 factory skid plate mounting holes to 3/8" (pictured as A). These 2 holes have tack welded nuts on the other side. The drill bit size will push the nuts out so they can be removed. Make sure to remove the nuts and any slag left from drilling.

2. Install the skid plate with the 2 rear bolts first (A). The order is
flat allen bolt, skid plate, stock skid plate, washer, and then the supplied nylock.
Get them tight, but also loose enough to move the skid plate around for alignment of the next two holes.

3. With the skidplate slightly bolted up, install the center 2 mounting bolts (pictured as B). These are the same as the rear bolts.  Now you can tighten all 4 mounting bolts completely.

4. Next Drill the two forward most holes (pictured as C). Mark the center hole location and drill to 3/8". Make sure to remove the nuts and any slag left from drilling.

5. Install the front bolts as in step 2 completely tight.

Thats it, enjoy your piece of mind!

Notes:
This skid works with 99% of aftermarket delrin or UHMW skid plates. Kawasaki, Superatv, tusk, SSS, etc. Each one mounts a little different in the rear, however they all use the same two rear mounting holes. You may need 2 longer bolts with nuts to mount the very rear holes as well as may have to use the self tapping screws through are skid plate.
