KRX 1000 Muffler Cover

1. On the top of the muffler. Pull the upper two 10mm bolts from the heat shield. 

 

2. Bend the heat shield plate down where it meets those two bolts. Bend as far as you can so it doesnt touch the new cover and create a rattle. 

 

3. Install the new cover. Tighten the upper 2 10mm bolts. 

 

4. Place a piece of 1/8" to 5/16" thick material against the passenger side of the muffler. You can use a paint stir stick, metal strap or ? Anything to get an equal gap. This step is to space the cover away so it does not rattle once tightened down. 

 

5. Next push the lower muffler cover in and mark your hole to drill. This hole should be drilled 1/4". 

 

6. Install the lower muffler cover bolt "while the 1/8" to 5/16" spacer is still installed on the side". Assemble the supplied hardware in this sequence. 
--Bolt & washer, then muffler cover, then spacer, then through the drilled bracket. Install the supplied nut on the back side.  

 

7. Tighten the lower bolt while the spacer is still in there. 

 

8. Remove the spacer. Your done.
